Wyandotte Nation in the news

Wyandotte Nation Chief Billy Friend and Wyandotte Nation Tribal Police Department Chief Ken Murphy were both interviewed regarding Oklahoma House Bill 1871, which recognized tribal police officers as ‘peace’ officers in the state and gives tribal officers the authority to enforce state law on tribal land that is in trust.

Gov. Mary Fallin signed the bill into law recently and it takes affect Nov. 1.
