The Wyandotte Nation is pleased to announce that we have officially closed on the purchase of Peoria Ridge Golf Course from the Peoria Tribe of Indians. As part of this new chapter, the course will be rebranded as Fire Ridge Golf Course.

Chief Billy Friend said the new name reflects an important part of Wyandotte history. Before our removal from the Great Lakes region, the Wyandottes were known as the “Keepers of the Council Fire.” The name Fire Ridge honors that heritage while looking toward the future of the course and our community.

This investment reflects the Wyandotte Nation’s continued focus on enhancing amenities for our guests while supporting recreation, tourism and economic activity in Northeast Oklahoma.

We are grateful to the Peoria Tribe of Indians for the vision and commitment they made more than 20 years ago to bring this golf course to life and create an important recreational asset for the surrounding community. We look forward to building upon that foundation.

The Wyandotte Nation has partnered with Maxim Golf to manage and operate Fire Ridge Golf Course. Maxim Golf provides tailored management and consulting services for golf courses and recreational properties, backed by more than 100 years of combined leadership experience. Their team specializes in all facets of golf club and recreation operations and will help us continue to enhance the experience for golfers and guests.

We are excited about the future of Fire Ridge Golf Course and look forward to welcoming the community to this next chapter. Additional updates regarding course operations and memberships will be shared in the coming weeks.
