EDUCATION

Master's Scholarship Program

Master's Scholarships are available to enrolled Wyandotte Tribal members who have completed a bachelor's degree and are pursuing a more advanced degree. This program has a four-semester life span with $3,000 awarded per semester.

Step 1 of 4

The Program

The Wyandotte Nation's Education Office awards scholarships to selected Wyandotte Nation Tribal Citizens pursuing Masters degrees at a college or university. The awards will be in the amount of $5,000 per semester. To apply for these funds, students must submit a completed set of application documents.

Application Process

Students seeking master’s degree scholarship funding must submit all the documents listed on the checklist at the same time.

Application Checklist (New applicants only)

• Copy of your Wyandotte Nation Tribal Membership card.

• Copy of your Certificate Degree of Indian Blood card (CDIB).

• Copy of your Social Security card.

• Copy of acceptance letter.

• Official undergraduate transcripts.

• A completed and signed application.

• One-page essay entitled "Tell me about Yourself'.

• Wallet size photo of the applicant.

Change of School

Students who enroll at another school after submitting their scholarship application should notify the Education Office in writing as soon as possible. Funds will not be sent to a new school until written notification is submitted to the Education Office.

Continuing Students

Please send an official transcript for the semester completed as promptly as possible to be considered for continuing semesters. Continuing students have first preference as long as all documentation is received in a tin1ely manner and all eligibility requirements are fulfilled.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION AGREEMENT: The information contained in my scholarship application and possible award files at the Wyandotte Nation Education Office, except my social security number, may be reviewed by my parents/guardian or released to persons authorized by the Principal Chief and Tribal Council members. The Wyandotte Nation may request copies of my grades, transcripts or financial records. Any modifications I wish to make to this Release of Information Agreement must be described in writing by a document bearing my signature and attached to this application.
