MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA: BY THE CONSTITUTION, RATIFIED SEPT. 29, 1999
Membership of the Nation (Article 5)
TRIBAL ENROLLMENT ORDINANCE OF THE WYANDOTTE NATION
WHEREAS, the Wyandotte Nation is a federally recognized Tribe, possessing inherent sovereign powers of Government; and
WHEREAS, those sovereign powers are exercised by a duly elected Board of Directors, deriving its governing powers from the Tribal Constitution and the Nation’s Council; and
WHEREAS, it is an authority and right of a Tribe to establish its own enrollment criteria and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is desirous of establishing a Tribal Enrollment Ordinance, setting forth the criteria, policy and procedures for enrollment in the Wyandotte Nation.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Wyandotte Nation hereby adopts this Enrollment Ordinance.
More on MEMBERSHIP
New members are added one time a year during the Wyandotte Nation Annual Meeting

Completed applications must be received in the Enrollment office by Aug. 15 of each year in order to be considered for enrollment at the Annual Meeting, which is held the 2nd Saturday of each September.
- Contact the Wyandotte Nation Family Services Department for an application.
- The membership application must be completed and returned to this office with an ORIGINAL State Certified Birth Certificate. New Enrollee Benefit
Enroll your child before his/her first birthday and you will receive a $100 gift card and a baby blanket with the tribal logo. An enrollment application and birth certificate are required. This is a nationwide program.
Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)
A Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) Card certifies that an individual possesses a specific degree of Indian blood of a federally recognized Indian Tribe. There are some programs and services based upon your status as an American Indian, which require you to furnish this card before services are rendered.
A CDIB card does Not establish membership in a federally recognized Indian Tribe, and it does not prevent an Indian Tribe from making a separate and independent determination of blood degree for tribal purposes. Prior to 1989 the Bureau of Indian Affairs issued these cards to Wyandotte Indians. After 1989, the Wyandotte Nation issued Tribal-issued CDIB cards.
- APPLICATION for CDIB CARD
- Replacement CDIB cards may be issued upon request.
