Wyandotte Nation is 1 of 10 tribes to receive a grant award under the funding opportunity titled U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation Competitive Grant for the Tribal Justice Systems Strategic Planning Program in the amount of $122,600.
The Strategic Planning Program will address the crime and public safety problems affecting Wyandotte Nation’s tribal justice and community wellness. The grant-funded project will develop and create a comprehensive justice system-wide strategic plan based upon DOJ-provided training as well as results from community needs assessments.
The plan will be made available to key community stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Board of Directors, Administration, Department Directors, and staff involved in law enforcement, Tribal courts, and organizations providing services for all victims of crime.
